Top 5 Theme Parks Apps Performance in South Africa Q4 2023

During the fourth quarter of 2023, the top 5 theme park apps in South Africa showcased diverse trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics. Here’s an overview of their performance:

Disneyland® Paris observed a significant peak in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $61 in the week of October 30, before stabilizing around $13-$15 towards the end of the quarter. Weekly downloads fluctuated, starting at 315 and dipping to a low of 77 by early November, before climbing back to 403 by the final week of December. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at 577 and decreasing to 204 by late November, then rising sharply to 684 by the end of December.

Universal Studios Singapore™ did not generate any revenue throughout the quarter. However, its weekly downloads showed a gradual increase, starting at 174 and peaking at 252 in the last week of December. The app’s active users also rose from 193 to 296 over the same period.

My Disney Experience had a notable weekly revenue of around $388 at the end of September, which fluctuated throughout the quarter, ending at approximately $186 in the last week of December. Its downloads began at 161, experienced a dip, and then increased to 166 by the end of December. Active users for this app started at 376 and saw a steady increase to 403 by the quarter’s end.

Universal Orlando Resort did not report any revenue for the quarter. The app's downloads began at 135, experienced a decline, and then rose to 121 in the last week of December. Active users started at 173, dropped to 51 by the end of October, but recovered to 186 by the end of December.

Lastly, Global Village Dubai also did not generate any revenue. Its weekly downloads were minimal at the start of the quarter but saw an increase from 4 in early October to 79 by the last week of December.
